In a jaw-dropping tale of survival, a 29-year-old woman astonishingly lived through a horrific ordeal where she lost her leg to a in what's being called a "freak ". Lisa Fitzgerald was waiting at the Morristown station in for a train to New York City on May 5, amidst a torrential downpour, when disaster struck as the last cars of a passing train hit her. Her stepmother, Stacie Weil-Fitzgerald, recounted the harrowing event, saying: "Freak accident.
..somehow, she wound up under the train," and revealed: "Her leg was immediately severed off of her.
" Despite the unimaginable pain and shock, Lisa managed to pull herself to safety. "She corralled herself up onto the platform and she waited on the tracks," Stacie detailed. "She crawled herself over, poor thing.
" The terror didn't end there, as Lisa feared further injury. "She was like, 'I was just so scared that my hair was going to get caught up in there and that they were going to suck [me back in]," Stacie continued. "So she waited for the train to stop.
She levied herself up onto the platform and she started screaming for help." Adding to the horror, some commuters ignored Lisa's cries for help, walking past her without offering assistance. It wasn't until a train worker noticed her plight that she finally received the help she desperately needed.
"Her leg was completely severed. She was bleeding out..
