Birth: 1940 Death: 2024 Bill Grimes, of Rancho Santa Margarita, died peacefully on May 31st, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was 84 years old. Bill will be remembered for his utmost character, kindness, empathy, and humor.

Bill was a quiet man who always loved to have a great time. He loved to laugh and always made time for people. He loved cars, music, singing, playing the organ, sailing, and cooking.



Bill loved God, his friends, and above allloved his family and his dog Chloe.Bill was born to William (Bill) Francis and Ruth Paulin Grimes in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the oldest of nine children.

Bill graduated from Crafton High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Gerry, who eventually became his wife of 62 years. From 1962-1968 Bill was in the Air Force reserves. In 1964, Bill graduated from Robert Morris College and Rochester Institute of Technology and began a 23-year career at Xerox Corporation.

Various promotions relocated him first to Rochester, NY, and then in 1975 to California where he became Controller, and ultimately Vice President of Xerox’s Electronics Division. Bill, Gerry and their three daughters lived in Los Alamitos. In 1986, Bill retired from Xerox and he and Gerry became owners of Fashion Island Printers and then Printed Communications Group until their retirement in 2020.

Bill and Gerry later moved to Laguna Hills and then to Rancho Santa Margarita where they have lived since 1991.Bill is survived by the love of h.
