Wedding season is in full swing, and the hunt for the perfect guest outfit that ticks all the boxes is on. One woman found herself in a pickle after bagging an invite to an Italian wedding and took to social media to suss out if her dress pick was a goer. Hitting up Reddit's r/WeddingAttireApproval with snaps of her choice a pale lilac number from House of CB, complete with dainty straps and a snazzy corset back, she confessed she had doubts.
She wrote: "I think I'm worried because it's quite light in colour and maybe the corset detail is too much? I just absolutely love the dress. Is it appropriate for a wedding in Italy?" The woman added: "The wedding venue is beside a lake in Italy and it's my boyfriend's sister [who is] getting married, it's her third wedding, his family is fairly laid back, not religious etc but I wouldn't say I know them well enough to predict what they'll all be wearing/ok with." People were quick to weigh in, warning the frock might be a bit much if there's even a whiff of religion in the air, pointing out it's a bit on the revealing side.
One commenter chimed in: "I think it depends on the venue and what's acceptable boobage-wise. Vineyard, is probably fine. Traditional Catholic mass, not so much.
" Another person chimed in: "Can confirm this dress is much more sheer in person - my sister ordered it for a wedding but the bride asked her not to wear it because it was too much and also did look much lighter in person (plus the cleavage was quite jarring.
