The 2024 spring sports season produced several local state champions and others who were close to winning it all. Which high school sports team in the South Sound was the best this spring? Vote now. Voting will remain open until noon Friday, June 7.

Votes emailed will not be counted. Cascade Christian boys golf — Cruised to the 1A boys golf title behind a trio of top-10 individual finishers. Senior Burke McFarland posted a two-day total of 149 (72-77) for second place at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis.

Senior Jacob Janho (78-74) tied for third and sophomore Zeke Prociw (75-78) tied for fifth. Emerald Ridge softball — Took second place in the 4A state softball tournament in Richland, losing to Jackson in the championship game. Collected wins over Moses Lake, top-seeded Skyview and Kentwood in the semifinal round to advance to the championship game.

Enumclaw baseball — The 2A state tournament’s runner-up, Enumclaw dropped the 2A championship to Columbia River, 3-2. But the Hornets regularly demolished league and district counterparts, earning 24 straight wins before the title game. Outscored opponents 247-70.

Franklin Pierce boys soccer — Captured the program’s first state championship, beating Sehome in a penalty kick shootout in .
