Well-known Cambodian designer Em Ream has responded to criticism, after he wore a bizarre costume to an opening party. Attending the opening party for the music video of the song “Tev Reach”, Mr Em caught the eye in a costume seemingly fashioned from ‘slinky’ children’s toys and junked electronics – finished off with a pair of orange platform shoes. On social media, Mr Em shared a video of his latest costume, with the caption ‘ Queen AI arrives in front of the festival in the opening ceremony of MV #Devreach by Tep Boprek’ However, his attire attracted criticism from social media users, with comments such as ‘ Dress like a crazy person, you make a mistake, you do not feel that you are wrong, you are ashamed of yourself ‘ and ‘ Understand that it is fashion, but dress to look good, I do not respect the host and most importantly, there is no Khmer form, should not step on the show to embarrass others ‘ Mr Em yesterday responded to critics via a social media video, stating that the body of his costume was inspired by ancient Angkorian style, whilst the ‘slinky’ ruff was in fact inspired by an image of the Pnong Khmer Leu tribe taken in 1929, adding ‘So excited to see their comment like this is a great inspiration for fashion designers like me, thank you very much to the owner of Comment.

.. And comment insulting me like this is normal because it’s not the first time and this is Digital era.
