Two Devon-based hotels have hailed top prizes in the Taste of the West awards. Dartmoor's Two Bridges Hotel and the charming Bedford Hotel in each scooped two Gold Awards. One honour was for their remarkable hotel accommodation and hospitality, and the other for their food fare that focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

For the eighth year running, these two traditional, locally owned hotels have secured a total of four preeminent accolades from Taste of the West. The commendations are bestowed by the regional body dedicated to endorsing and spotlighting the finest hospitality, food, drink, and retail experiences in the South West. Judges from Taste of the West conducted covert inspections of each hotel, affording them the opportunity to evaluate the calibre of the cuisine and the hospitality standards.



The judges expressed admiration for their experiences, specifically noting the focus on food procured from local suppliers and superior customer service standards. Concluding their inspection at the Two Bridges Hotel, the judges remarked: "A warm welcome is guaranteed and the food in its award-winning restaurant is well worth visiting for." Reviewing their stay at The Bedford Hotel, the judges noted: "The Bedford Hotel is a great place to stay, a mixture of old-fashioned charm and comfort, with welcoming, friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast.
