A spectator threw potato chips into the face of two race leaders during this year's Tour de France . Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar are in a two-way battle to win the Tour de France with seven stages left but both of their racers' stage could’ve ended in disaster due to the action of some classless, shirtless fan. Pogacar added to his lead on Saturday with a breakaway win to claim his second stage of the race and keep the yellow jersey.
Stage 14 of the Tour traveled 151.9 kilometers into the Pyrenees mountains from Pau to Saint Lary-Soulan Pla d’Adet. And the Slovenian made history on his way to victory as he smashed a 30-year climbing record on the famous Pla d’Adet and surged on to the line as Vingegaard couldn’t keep up.
However, around 10 kilometers from the finish line, both cyclists found themselves under fire from a spectator. As fans swamped the road ahead of the cyclists, ducking and diving out of the way of the riders on the twisting mountain roads. Instead of cheering on the racers, one fan was spotted first eating from a packet of potato chips before throwing the packet in the face of Pogacar who furiously shook his head before carrying on his way.
