After the Yankees lost in brutal fashion in Kansas City on Thursday, they got on the plane, headed to Boston, and took it all out on the Red Sox . Alex Verdugo exacted his revenge, homering in his first at-bat against his former team and driving in four, and the Yankees looked every bit the juggernaut they’ve been all year in taking on their archrivals. They can cinch a series win at Fenway with Carlos Rodón on the mound tonight.
We’ve got another loaded day on the site ahead of tonight’s nationally televised matchup. In the morning, we’ll have Madison’s roundup of the Yankees’ rivals from last night, as well as the latest 1999 Diary entry from Sam, featuring more superlative work from Derek Jeter. We’ll also have this week’s SB Nation Reacts results courtesy of Estevão, a Reliever Confidence Index update from Nick Power, a look at the Yankees’ baserunning from Nick Sarnelli, and a remembrance of Ichiro’s biggest hits for (and against) the Yankees from John.
