Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has linked his achievements in the state to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom he said was greatly instrumental to in the last one year.

Besides, the governor stated without the support of the great women of the state, he would not have won the 2023 governorship election. Governor Alia made this known while speaking at the launching of the programme, “774 Explode, Enhancing Gender Space in Politics” put together by the office of the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Square in Makurdi at the weekend. Governor Alia who also thanked the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her love for the state said the Federal Government’s programmes for the women have made so much difference, making things easier for his administration and its people.

“I thank the great women of Benue State so much because if you were not there for me, I wouldn’t be standing here as the Governor of Benue State. I appreciate every one of you”, Alia noted. He said although the state has no first lady due to his calling as a Reverend Father, all the great women of Benue are the first ladies of the state, and as such, there is no vacuum at all, especially as the women are ably led by the wife of his deputy, Mrs Christie Sam-Ode.

He charged the Benue women to key in, and take advantage of the many programmes rolled out for the women folks, both from the state and the federal level such as the I.
