And with children, those moments remain special, not just in the photograph,” says Mili Mukherjee (Shweta), a sought-after photographer in Goa for family and child portraits. Mili’s path to photography was a gradual one.

Growing up in Bihar, a state marred by crime, she dreamt of escaping its confines. “Our parents encouraged us to seek opportunities beyond Bihar,” she reflects. Thus, she pursued engineering in Bengaluru and soon after her degree got an on-site job opportunity in Switzerland.



Until then, photography was just a hobby and Mili always liked printing photographs and holding onto memories. In 2006, she and her husband acquired their first DSLR cameras. While he focused on landscape photography, she specialised in capturing portraits.

“I always knew that I was more into capturing the core of people and have always focussed on feeling and emotions...
