But if there was one message to take away from this year’s edition in April , it’s that the horological renaissance is facing quite a challenge as true breakthroughs seem a thing of the past. In the early 2000s, there was a revival in watchmaking; we were learning the rediscovered histories of landmark models such as the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso , the Cartier Santos, the Breitling Navitimer, Panerai’s Radiomir and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
