Thousands of people will be heading to Worthy Farm today, June 26, as the first day of the Glastonbury festival gets underway. This year's festival is being including Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Sza who will take to the Pyramid Stage over the course of the week. Shania Twain will play the Legends Slot at 3:45pm on the final day of the festival, Sunday, June 30.

The ECHO has been speaking to excited Scousers this morning who are making the long journey to Glastonbury from Liverpool ONE coach station. Laura Prior, 35, from , is going to the festival with her friends for the 8th time. She says: ‘'We used to get the bus at 1.



30am so this is a treat. We’re all a bit older. This is actually really reasonable.

’' Asked why Scousers love Glastonbury, Laura added: ‘'I was talking to someone about this the other day. Scousers love a party, and Glasto is the biggest party in the whole country, possibly the world, and Scousers are like, I’ve got to be there.’' Another excited festival goer believes 'there's no place like it on Earth'.

Helen Dunne, 38, from Old Swan, is heading to Glastonbury with friends. It’s her fourth time going. She says people from Liverpool love the festival because ‘'Scousers love a party and that’s the main thing.

’' On who she is most looking forward to seeing this year, Helen said: ‘I’m not obsessed with the line-up this year, but I’m looking forward to Coldplay and The Streets.'' Aside from the headliners there are some major acts set to tak.
