News of sent ripples – and rumours – through an industry currently enjoying a game of musical chairs. But the designer – who joined the company 37 years ago as an embroidery enthusiast and went on to become Karl Lagerfeld’s right hand before succeeding him upon his death in 2019 – has left a wealth of double-C dotted inspiration as rich as the brand’s plush quilted flap bags (the holy grail of leather goods). The pages of British welcomed her punkish, youth-centric interpretation of the most iconic brand in the world, and her playful interpretation of house signatures – from bouclé to pearls – modelled by house friends, from Tilda Swinton and Lila Moss, to Jill Kortleve and Mona Tougaard.
