Jean Silva went from knocking out Charles Jourdain at UFC 303 to stopping another veteran in a higher weight class two weeks later, and he did so in memorable fashion. Silva faced Drew Dober in a sure-fire Fight of the Night contender in the featured bout of UFC Denver on Saturday. Stepping in as a short-notice replacement for Mike Davis, Silva nearly finished Dober at the end of the second round — but also opened up a nasty cut on the eyebrow of Dober that continued to get worse and worse as the fight went on.

After landing a brutal spinning elbow in the third round, the cut on Dober’s eye was a jaw-dropping sight, and while the hometown fighter tried to keep fighting and hide it from the referee, he couldn’t. The fight was eventually stopped at the 1:28 mark of Round 3, giving Silva the biggest win of his career to date. See how UFC fighters reacted to the incredible battle between Silva and Dober.
