Lexi Mielke’s final moment of high school softball was a thing of dreams. And she seemed to pick up right where she left off at the college level. After an incredible debut season with the Mid Michigan College softball program, Mielke was named the MCCAA Northern Conference Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year.

She was also selected to the all-Michigan Community College Athletic Association team, which encompasses all 18 league programs. Those are high accolades for a player who reached the pinnacle of high school softball as a 2023 Standish-Sterling graduate -- and kept on soaring. “Lexi has been an amazing addition to our team,” Mid Michigan coach Greg Welch said.



“She is the perfect example of a silent leader and her softball IQ is very high. Her work ethic on and off the field is a great motivation for her teammates. “Most noticeable is her strength and positivity no matter what is happening during a game.

I absolutely enjoy coaching her and watching her excel.” RELATED : Jenna Morse named MCCAA Western Conference Player of the Year Mielke lived the dream as a senior at Standish-Sterling, leading the Panthers to the first state championship in school history. She earned first-team All-State and MLive Bay City Dream Team honors as a first baseman, batting .

558 with three home runs, 60 RBIs and 33 doubles, which ranks second in the MHSAA record book. She delivered 200 hits and 129 RBIs in her stellar prep career and capped it in glorious fashion , scoring.
