Centre Mila Reuelu-Buchanan made her presencefelt on the court, orchestrating some slick play andcombining well with shooters Maia Wilson and Monica Falkner, while Emma Thompson at wing attack expertly picked hermoments to inject her flair.

The Stars were rewardedfor making minimal errors and capitalised on earlymisjudgement from the Tactix to build a narrowlead. Holy Fowler in the wing defence bib led thedefensive line, working hard to shut down the Tactix'ssecond phase play and making them work hard to score everygoal. The Stars held a 15-14 advantage at quartertime, just the second time they've led after the openingquarter all season.

Their good work continued in thesecond period, as shooter Amorangi Malesala took to thecourt for the first time since round one after being outwith an ankle injury and looked hungry for work immediatelyalongside Wilson. Gina Crampton came on at wing attackwhich marked her 150th National Netball League match sinceher debut in 2012 and she used every ounce of experience, making a formidable combination withReuelu-Buchanan. Both teams were guilty of lettingsoft errors creep in, but neither could quite pull away fromthe other as they traded blows.
