There’s nothing funny about getting hit by a golf cart — especially if you are not expecting it. But that’s the world we live in today. Life is a challenge and TikTok is here to present new ones every day.

The Aspen Daily News is reporting on a local lawsuit where a local teen decided to try the TikTok “Golf Cart Challenge” on his “friend.” (“ Suit: Minor badly hurt in TikTok golf cart challenge, ” July 5, Aspen Daily News). Apparently the challenge is to bump into your buddy at a low speed, knocking them gently over.



What could go wrong? Well, as you would suspect, a lawsuit has followed an incident at Ironbridge Golf Club where a local teen was run down, taking the challenge to new lows. The lawsuit alleges: “(The driver) attempted to duplicate a TikTok prank in which an individual, driving a golf cart, would run the cart into an unsuspecting friend at low speed, causing the friend to be bumped forward, unharmed,” the suit said. “(The driver) negligently drove the golf cart into (the friend) at a higher rate of speed than he intended, causing (the friend) to be knocked forward and to the ground.

(The driver) was unable to control the speed of the golf cart and drove the golf cart over (the friend), pinning him underneath and causing the injuries.” Yoiks! Stunts like this are fun until someone loses an eye. Our unsuspecting golfer’s mom said in the lawsuit that her child suffered “skull fracture, intracranial hemorrhage and extensive wounds requ.
