And she’s a great shooter.” “She” is Allison O’Hanlon, the former Duanesburg High School star who is a freshman on the Siena women’s basketball team and recently began summer workouts with the Saints. Another former Section 2 star, Siena postgrad Valencia Fontenelle-Posson, answered a question about what O’Hanlon can contribute to the program by endorsing her new teammate’s commitment to hard work and meshing with the Saints.
And, by the way, O’Hanlon can also shoot it. She finished her six-year varsity career at Duanesburg with 2,535 points, 1,140 of which came on 380 3-pointers that represent a career record for NYSPHSAA girls’ basketball. O’Hanlon’s career point total also ranks fourth on the all-time Section 2 list.

For now, O’Hanlon is adjusting to the landscape of Division I college basketball and appears to have moved smoothly into the rigors of season preparation while finding her comfort zone on what promises to be a close-knit unit under first-year head coach Terry Primm. “She’s already bringing amazing things to the table,” Primm said.
