Shane Lowry took home a cheque for €588,000 after finishing in a tie for sixth at the US PGA Championship over the weekend. Xander Schauffele ended his wait for a major title as he won the tournament on Sunday. Lowry found himself in contention going into the last round, but he just couldn't close in on the leaders as the round went on.
Rory McIlroy finished further down the leaderboard in a tie for 12th, pocketing €330,000 for doing so. Meanwhile, Schauffele, who answered questions about his ability to close out tournaments in emphatic fashion with a wire-to-wire victory at Valhalla, took home almost €3.1million for winning the event.
