NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 568.93 points up at 79243.18 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Weizmann Ltd(down 11.47 per cent), Tanvi Foods(India)(down 11.34 per cent), Superior Ind(down 10.



88 per cent), IIFL Securities(down 10.22 per cent) and Khandelwal Extr(down 10.00 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks closed in the green, while 13 stocks ended in the red. The index closed 175.71 points up at 24044.

5. On the BSE, Alfavision Over, Remedium Lifecare, Filatex Fashions, Vivanza Biosciences and Akme Fintrade(India hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Bombay Oxygen Invest, Vijay Solvex, Burnpur Cement, Indag Rubber and GRP Ltd touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade..
