MARSHALL – The south subsection softball playoffs in Section 3A and 3AA continued Saturday at the Marshall Softball Complex with a few area teams looking to get one step closer to section titles. In Section 3A, top seed Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian kept rolling as the Eagles easily downed Renville County West 10-0. They remain dominant and undefeated in the section tourney, outscoring their first three opponents a combined 34-1.

The Eagles face Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, the No. 2 seed out of the south subsection, Tuesday at 5 p.m.



in the semifinal for the right to advance to the section championship. The loser will fall to the elimination bracket. That bracket features Lac qui Parle Valley and Wabasso, who will play each other Tuesday, with the winner playing the loser of R-T-R and E/SWC later that day.

In Section 3AA, the south subsection’s top-seeded Luverne, narrowly defeated Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta as they take on Dassel-Cokato Tuesday at 5 p.m. Dassel-Cokato defeated Jackson County Central 7-6 on Saturday to move into that matchup with Luverne.

The loss dropped JCC into the elimination bracket. ADVERTISEMENT In that bracket, JCC responded well and blew out Pipestone Area 15-1 to set up a Tuesday matchup with Morris Area. Windom began its day in the elimination bracket, defeating Litchfield 3-0 before falling to Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 6-0 to put an end to its season.
