The goalkeeper joined the club last summer and went on to establish himself as number one, scooped up the Ton young player of the year award and was able to give up his day job at a fashion store and sign a new deal. The former Celtic kid had previously revealed to the Tele how he had endured a wretched spell of injuries which had left him battling to save his career. Now he is looking forward to a brighter future, but is mindful of the pitfalls that professional football can bring.

He told the Tele: "Last season has definitely had a big impact on my life, in more ways than one. "But I'll not count my eggs before they hatch either. "Even when I was injured just before Christmas times, I'd made the choice to go back to Flannels and work part-time because I wasn't really involved in the team then and things weren't really going for me.



"I felt like I'd needed that extra bit of security because I either hadn't been in the team or I'd been injured. "I'll not make that mistake again of getting too above my station too quickly. Despite the successes that I've had this season, I'll never get too ahead of myself because I know how quickly it can all change.

I'll not get above myself and I'll keep working hard and to the best of my ability for the team. "It's great to be back full-time and to have had the season that I've had, but all it takes is one bad injury and you're back to square one. I'm desperate to avoid that happening.

" Mullen revealed that his humble approach all stems fro.
