"SIX" continues to July 14 at The James M. Nederlander Theatre on Randolph Street. The musical, by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, offers a unique look at the infamous wives of Henry VIII.
The lives of the six royal females are told through creative and varied musical numbers which are often hilarious. Featured in the show are the characters of Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr. Actress/singer Cassie Silva, who portrays Anne Boleyn on this tour, said she's excited for the show's six-week run in The Windy City.
Silva joined the "SIX" company after the pandemic, in 2022, and has previously played an alternate to four roles. On this tour, she's taking on a starring role as Boleyn. For Silva, although she enjoyed learning multiple roles, she said it's exciting to put so much energy into bringing one character to life.
"It's now about bringing the whole spirit of Anne Boleyn and more of my wheelhouse (to the stage), which is comedy," Silva said. The actress said she coniders the character of Boleyn to be the "class clown." Silva said she hadn't gotten the chance to see the show early on because "it closed on Broadway the day before it was supposed to debut," due to the pandemic.
"I loved the album," Silva added. When she finally saw the show, she said "my jaw was on the floor" because she thought it was spectacular. "It took me so many places," she said.
