TREATY United put in a commanding performance as they defeated Bray Wanderers 2-0 to make it two wins in three SSE Airtricity League First Division games at the Markets Field on Friday night. The precious win keeps Treaty United in eighth spot in the table, seven points off fifth-placed Bray who occupy the final promotion play-off position. Next up for Tommy Barrett's charges is a crucial trip to Ferrycarrig Park to take on Wexford FC on Thursday evening next, 7.

45pm. Visitors Bray started the better side going close through Cristian Magerusan, but his shot was blocked. Treaty started to slowly get a foothold on the game and their build up was being rewarded with several chances.

Lee Devitt’s first time shot from the edge of the box was deflected just wide midway through the first half. The resulting corner led to a chance for Mark Lynch who just skimmed the crossbar with his effort. Treaty should’ve taken the lead a short time later when Stephen Christopher broke through the Wanderers defence, but his low drive went just past the post.

The home side was finally rewarded for their efforts when Yousef Mahdy was on hand to tap in the rebound after Mark Byrne’s shot that hit the post to make it 1-0 to the home side at the 35-minute mark. Seconds later, Mark Byrne was in again, but this time his first-time attempt was well saved by keeper Stephen McGuinness. Bray finally came close when Freddie Turley sprinted down the byline and his cross almost went over Corey Chambers' h.
