One of Bristol ’s leading arts venues has been taken over and will be relaunched by a London-based festival and cultural team. Propyard, which converted a 25,000sqft warehouse in St Philips into a huge events space but closed in April , will be taken over by London firm AMAAD. It says it will rename it ‘Prospect’ and would invest heavily in creating a venue hosting entertainment, comedy, sport and music, and pop-up food, drink and fashion markets.

AMAAD is the team behind some of Europe’s most celebrated festivals, including Love Supreme, The Long Road, ION and Junction 2, and it is pledging to work with local Bristol promoters like Team Love, The Blast and Dance Corp, to bring a range of music events and festivals to the space. The renovation of Propyard to turn it into Prospect is already under way, with work currently taking place ahead of the summer season - a spokesperson said the opening line-up will be announced shortly.
