A brand new Perth music festival has been unexpectedly cancelled two weeks after it was announced. Organisers of Promise Village, which was set to include international music acts including Jorja Smith, J Hus and Rema, have not officially announced the event’s cancellation but people clicking onto the website were hit with a shock message. “Due to unforeseen circumstances Promise Village on the 12th of October 2024 will no longer be going ahead,” the message on Megatix read.

“Refunds have been automatically processed so no action is required. “Please allow up to 5 business days for the funds to reach your account used for purchase.” The event’s Instagram page has more than 3000 followers and just five days ago the company was encouraging music fans to buy tickets via a pre-sale link.



Promise Village was set to take place at Langley Park and had full support from the City of Perth. Other acts such as Uncle Waffles, Headie One, Nemzzz, NSG DBN Gogo, Sarz, Jazmine Nikitta and Sasha Fern were also announced in the line-up. It was set to give West Aussies a taste of the popular Gold Coast three-day festival Promiseland and provide some excitement for festivalgoers following a disappointing year of cancelled events across the State.
