To loyal Royal followers' delight, she was accompanied by Princess Charlotte , her daughter. However, as well as making her highly anticipated appearance, several keen-eyed fans quickly observed that Kate also seemed to be giving a subtle nod to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana with her outfit choice for the occasion.

In a break from her usual tradition, Kate opted for a Safiyaa-designed dazzling purple dress for the prominent event - an identical shade worn to Wimbledon by Princess Diana 33 years ago!
