NORRISTOWN — A Pottstown man who was arrested while in possession of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $54,000 has admitted to drug trafficking charges and will face a sentencing hearing later this year. Judge Thomas P.
Rogers deferred sentencing so that court officials can complete a background investigation report about Hill. The open guilty plea means Hill has no deals with prosecutors regarding his potential sentence and the judge will have sole discretion in fashioning the sentence. Hill, who remains free on bail pending his sentencing hearing, potentially faces several years in prison on the charges.
Court documents indicate Hill was charged after an investigation into his drug activities by Pottstown detectives, county detectives and members of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, Philadelphia division. During the investigation, authorities conducted several so-called controlled drug buys during which an informant purchased crystal methamphetamine from Hill on several occasions at prearranged meeting locations in the borough in May 2023. “During each occurrence, (the informant) communicated with Elijah Hill via phone to order the drugs and they agreed on a location and time to meet to complete the drug trans.
