In a significant move to combat unemployment and hardship in the country, Dunamis International Gospel Centre has empowered and equipped 451 Nigerians with various vocational skills. The initiative, aimed at empowering both youths and retirees, underscored the church’s commitment to societal development and reducing unemployment rate. The training covered diverse areas including bag making, cooking of local dishes, catering, fashion design, hair styling, web and graphic design, paint production, shoe making, poultry farming, solar installation, photography, and photo editing, among others.
The church also empowered the beneficiaries with essential items such as sewing machines, washing machines, ovens, food supplies, and start-up funds to help them become self-reliant entrepreneurs. Addressing the attendees at the church’s skills acquisition headquarters in Abuja, Senior Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche emphasised that, “Christians should live their lives with the fear of God and represent Him practically in their daily endeavours.
” He encouraged the newly trained individuals to be blessings to others and uphold kingdom’s principles. The Senior Pastor informed the gathering that the Church has given consideration for the establishment of a Vocational Skills Training Academy, which will provide the avenue for youths to acquire the necessary skills in response to the present economic realities.
