The 2024 ESPY Awards, hosted by tennis legend Serena Williams, were held Thursday in Hollywood, California. Among the big award winners were Best Breakthrough Athlete for JuJu Watkins, Best Record-Breaking Performance for Caitlin Clark and Jimmy V Award for Perseverance for Dawn Staley. A’ja Wilson and Patrick Mahomes won Best Athlete honors while Best Team went to the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team, which beat Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA championship game.
