By The Celtics were playing a potential close-out Game 4 in Dallas on Friday night. But that didn’t stop diehard Boston fans from filling the seats at TD Garden for the Celtics watch party. TD Garden had hardly any empty seats; fans were ready to celebrate another title for the city of Boston.

The parade will have to wait, though, as the Celtics lost Game 4 in blowout fashion to the Mavericks, 122-84. It’s the third-largest margin of victory in a Finals game all-time. Take a look at some of the sights from inside and outside TD Garden on Friday night: Fans were happy and excited prior to tip-off and for the first few minutes, but the facial expressions changed early on as Dallas grabbed a commanding lead and never relented.

Tensions were high even hundreds of miles away from the site of Game 4. The once-packed crowd shrunk gradually in size until hardly any fans remained during the final minutes of the fourth quarter. TD Garden will be filled again on Monday for a live game on the Celtics’ home court.

Boston will have another chance to close out the Mavericks, this time in front of its home crowd. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m.
