After opening for the likes of Troye Sivan and Charli XCX in recent years, Allie X wanted her tour—her biggest yet as a headlining act—to be like nothing her fans had seen from her before. “I didn’t want to overreach with the production, but instead try to keep the raw essence of my new record,” the Canadian-born pop, born Alexandra Hughes, star tells . Performing with a more stripped-down band—just a guitarist and a bassist; no drummer—Hughes wanted her tour fashion to be the main spectacle.

Not a fan of the “sparkly bras and panties” she’s seen her fair share of musicians take the stage in, she worked with stylist Stella Evans to curate a more considered batch of custom and loaned looks. “It’s difficult to find a layered outfit that works for the stage because you need to be able to move without restriction,” notes Hughes, who pulled pieces from the likes of Meg Beck to Sarah Aphrodite for her tour. “Everything I wore was in black and white with lots of lace and ’80s romance.



” To commemorate the end of the tour, Allie X shared some exclusive snaps with from her time on the road. Me and my ol’ pal and opener Maylee Todd backstage in Chicago for the first North American show. Took to the streets for a pre-show stroll with some friends.
