Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes has suffered a broken leg, following a nasty training fall that sent the Dally M Medallist straight to the hospital. Hynes fell on his leg during an afternoon training session on Tuesday, and it has since been revealed that the star ruptured his syndesmosis – along with breaking his leg. The news rounds out a horror month for the former Blues No.

7 – who was axed from the NSW side and then failed to frank his strong form at clubland over the following rounds. “It has been confirmed that Nicho has a complete syndesmosis rupture, plus a tibia fracture to his left ankle,” Sharks head of performance Nathan Pickworth said. “He will undergo surgery tomorrow (Wednesday), with an estimated return to the field of approximately eight weeks.



” If all goes well, Hynes is expected to return one-week before the finals – which could be a tall order for the Sharks based off their recent form. It means the rookie halves pairing of Braydon Trindall and Daniel Atkinson will have to conjure a few more wins for Cronulla to keep them in the eight.
