NELLY Furtado has made a bold fashion choice while announcing the official release date for her new album, titled 7, The Portuguese-Canadian singer shared an Instagram post on Thursday, informing fans that the album would be available on September 20. Nelly , 45, uploaded a black-and-white photo of her posing from behind with a large, sparkly number "7" printed on her entire back. She opted to go topless for the shoot, fully showing off the number while also flaunting her toned physique .
The I'm Like A Bird hitmaker peered off to the side as she placed her thumb inside the waistband of her low-rise jeans. Nelly accessorized the Y2K-inspired look with chunky bracelets and hoop earrings. In her caption, the songwriter explained the process of creating the album and why she chose such a simple title for her seventh album.
"This is going to sound strange and stupid but this isn’t a job for me. It’s super personal. Music is my whole language and life and love and blessing, so sometimes it’s hard for me to wrap that up in a bow," she started.
Nelly said it took her four years to create the album, as well as various cities and a large "army" of collaborators. "I made 400-500 pieces of music in 4 years. My ADHD doesn’t always allow for me to organize creations in a methodical way so it’s hard to explain how we have chosen 14 songs that magically rose to the top of the heap," she added.
