New York Mets reliever Jorge López clarified comments he made Wednesday after throwing his glove into the stands following an ejection during a 10-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. While speaking to media after the game, López said he didn't regret the glove toss. It was also a subject on great debate on social media if he called the Mets the worst team in MLB or himself the worst teammate in MLB: "I don't regret it.

twitter.com/IvmFJ04EfH Per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN's Jorge Castillo ), the Mets "began the process of designating Lopez for assignment" after the game, meaning they will have seven days to trade him, release him or send him to the minor leagues. New York fell to a disappointing 22-33 with Wednesday's loss, and it happened in frustrating fashion, as the Mets lost by seven runs despite the score being tied entering the eighth inning.

Reliever Adam Ottavino gave up four runs in the eighth, and López followed by surrendering a two-run home run to Dodgers superstar slugger Shohei Ohtani. He was ejected during the next at-bat while arguing a checked swing call involving Dodgers.
