It almost does away with the need to reach for your phone in everyday use of the buds. I did use the phone app to set things up initially, but after that I just used the case screen to change the volume, access my custom EQ, skip to the next song and see the battery power level of your earbuds at all times. The case also has access to the Find My Buds feature which is so useful if you misplace one or both buds.
I was surprised how much of a game-changer that using the case is. The buds themselves are light at 5g each and comfortable to wear for long periods. They have an AirPods Pro style stem design and come with silicon ear tips.
The default medium-sized tips that come pre-attached were the best fit for me, and this was confirmed using the handy fit test available through the JBL Headphones.
