Marks and Spencer is selling a pair of denim shorts giving shoppers the confidence back to show their legs this summer. The shorts, which have been hailed 'respectable' by some women, have a gorgeous design that could easily be mistaken for a skirt. The £35 M&S Collection Denim Pleat Front Belted Shorts are a comfy and spacious take on a classic style.

Unlike other denim shorts on the market, they don't cling, and have a little more length, so will flatter curvier figures without making you feel self-conscious. Cut in a flattering paperbag shape, they have a stylish D-ring belt on the high waist, which will cinch you in for a slimmed-down look. Subtle pleat detailing on the front adds a tailored touch.
