A Hyde Park man was found dangerous and held on $10,000 bail after more than 100 rounds of ammunition and drugs were found in his car, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office announced. Arn Jones, 46, was charged on June 25 with distributing a class B substance, possession to distribute a class A, D, and B substance (subsequent offense), carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license (second offense), carrying a loaded firearm without a license, two counts of possession of ammunition without an FID card (subsequent offense), four counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device and a firearm violation with three prior violent or drug crimes. In Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury, Judge David Poole found Jones dangerous and ordered him held on $10,000 and home confinement with GPS monitoring if released, Hayden’s office said.

Jones is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause hearing on July 29. On June 24, officers with the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Unit were on patrol in the area of Gerard and Island streets, Hayden’s office said. They saw a drug purchase between Jones and another person.

Police intercepted and recovered 38 plastic bags of cocaine, three bags of fentanyl, cannabis and $233 in cash from Jones, the district attorney’s office said. Officers then seized Jones’ car as part of an ongoing investigation. They found a loaded Glock firearm with one round in the chamber and five in the magazine.
