A man driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle was killed in a crash on Route 101 in Candia, New Hampshire on Saturday, according to police. The crash was reported on the eastbound side of Route 101 in Candia around 6:30 p.m.

Saturday. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the man on the road along with a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement. The man was identified as Ralph Cummings, 44, of Newmarket, New Hampshire, according to state police’s statement.



An initial investigation determined Cummings had been driving the motorcycle east on the highway at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reported he lost control of the vehicle in a “fishtailing fashion,” then crashed within the travel lanes of the road, the statement said. He was not wearing a helmet.

Cummings died from his injuries at the scene. There were no passengers, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to state police. State police are investigating all aspects of the crash.
