We spoke with Michael Falocco, FGAA, a jewellery designer at The Perth Mint and a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia (FGAA), to delve into the top five trends in luxury jewellery this year.

Many that are inspired by the modern heirlooms trend are often drawn to our customisation services to develop bespoke designs that reflect their family values.” Journalism for the curious Australian across politics, business, culture and opinion.

Quiet luxury emphasises subtlety and sophistication. “It’s all about those elusive ‘if you know, you know’ jewellery pieces,” Mr Falocco explained. People are moving towards jewellery that speaks of quiet luxury – pieces that are not necessarily flashy but are made from the finest Australian sourced materials, such as Australian Origin Gold®, and exhibit exceptional craftsmanship, like the Argyle TreasuresTM ring.

This trend reflects a broader movem.
