After the “Telephone Townhall” with Mayor Yemi Mobolade, several of us residents shared about how we have emailed the mayor’s office, only to not get the courtesy of a reply to our emails. The mayor has a “senior office specialist” who seems to handle his emails. This doesn’t seem to match the “availability” and “transparency” message he puts forth.
Charlie Clark Colorado Springs I’ve had several very positive interactions with a City Park’s employee — David Deitemeyer — and felt compelled to write this letter to complement him on his work. I also sent a copy to Mayor Yemi Mobolade and a handwritten note to David. (hope he gets it).
But, I also think the citizens of Colorado Springs, your readers should know the hard work and dedication of this city employee is being acknowledged. Alex Valentine Colorado Springs I have been a registered Republican for 52 years, with 43 of those years living in Colorado Springs. Just when I thought I have heard just about every ridiculous comment a politician can say, along comes a congressional candidate criticizing the gay community.
The email sent out by Dave Williams was irresponsible and bigoted. Although I can understand his religious beliefs regarding marriage, his comments about the LGBTQ people and Pride Month were uncalled for. He does not realize that there are some gay people that vote Republican.
Let’s not forget they have families and friends that might not be gay, but also vote Republican. It appear.
