KFC India has launched K-POP, a limited-time Korean variant of its Chicken Popcorn in Bangalore and Mumbai, starting at ₹109. Themed after K-pop and the hallyu wave of South Korea, this is the first time KFC has introduced Korean flavours to its menu in India. K-POP is “inspired by the vibrant and zingy flavours of Korean cuisine” and is the “perfect blend of classic Korean ingredients and flavours such as fiery chilli, savoury soy, and satisfyingly crunchy sesame.
” The announcement of the Korean twist on KFC’s chicken popcorn was made at a noraebang (Korean karaoke) evening in Mumbai, during an invite-only event called VIBE by KFC: K-POP Edition. Furthermore, KFC has introduced limited edition Korean-themed packaging in select restaurants. “The bright and colourful design is filled with cherry blossoms and musical notes, electrified with a guitar and other musical instruments along with a buzzing disco light, in true K-Pop fashion,” the fast food chain describes the design.
“The box also features Korean architecture, fans, and stylised pink clouds along with funky lettering.”.
