Dressed in an elegant white Jenny Packham dress, the royal travelled in a carriage alongside her three children for the traditional procession through London , before appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony together.

Kate, who revealed back in March that she was undergoing 'preventative chemotherapy' for an undisclosed form of cancer, showed 'confident determination, reassurance and even support' during yesterday's outing, according to Judi James . The body language expert told FEMAIL: ' Kate’s body language during this first-step return was a masterclass in what being a royal is all about. She already had the template from the late Queen and it included stoicism and calm.
