NEW DELHI: After holding a roadshow on his nomination eve and a Nari Shakti Samvad in Kashi , Prime Minister Narendra Modi left the responsibility of the poll campaign in his parliamentary constituency for his party cadre and the people of Kashi. Among star campaigners, Union textile minister Piyush Goyal camped in Varanasi for several days and met morning walkers, replying to queries of youth entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, and Banarasi sari traders. In an interview with Rajeev Dikshit, Goyal shared the PM’s vision on Varanasi’s development: The journey of Kashi’s development witnessed in the last 10 years made the world aware about the extraordinary capacity of the hardworking people of Kashi as they not only kept the economy growing but also preserved their faith and religion.
Kashi Vishwanath Dham is an ideal example. After the arrival of KV Dham, 16 crore pilgrims have visited Varanasi in the last two and a half years and gave a mega boost to the city’s economy. Varanasi will soon emerge as the number one city in India.
Rapid development is being ensured under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The infrastructure development carried out in Varanasi in the last 10 years in view of growing economy and demand will bring enormous opportunities for the people of Kashi and Purvanchal. People will utilise these opportunities to increase their wealth, lifestyle and better education for children.
