However, his trendy short pants won't see any game action due to a strict NFL rule that has been a thorn in the side for many players. Fields was decked out in full game-day gear for the shoot, complete with helmet and taped ankles, but the length of his pants caught the eye.

They didn't comply with the NFL's stringent uniform policy. As the NFL's Game Operations Manual outlines, the league is quite particular about how players present themselves on the field. The league believes that a player's appearance can significantly impact its image and reputation, albeit the former Bears QB was only posing for photos.

Specifically, stockings must be white from the top of the shoe to midcalf and in an approved team color from midcalf to the bottom of the pant leg, extending below the knee." But neither Fields' socks nor his pants adhered to these gameday guidelines.
