Pennsylvania Lottery Stage at the Square UPMC Stage at Frankeberger Linda Stanko remembers the good old days when she could walk from her childhood home in Mechanicsburg to the borough’s annual Jubilee Day street fair. These days, she has to purchase a plane ticket to attend the event, but come she will. Organized by the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce , Jubilee Day is held annually on the third Thursday of June and is the largest, longest running one-day street fair on the East coast.
Now in its 94th year, the event will take place downtown from 10 a.m. to 9 p.
m. June 20. The chamber estimates about 70,000 people attend Jubilee Day each year, and the event features about 300 businesses, community groups, vendors and others.
This year’s festivities include Christian Life Assembly’s free petting zoo behind Citizen’s Bank and PNC Grow Up Great, an interactive activity center in PNC Bank’s parking lot that will include the Sesame Workshop and Fred Rogers Productions. Race cars and other vehicles will also be displayed at the event. Live entertainment will include performances by country artist Christian Yeager, Rockbox, Bushmaster, Kirk Wise & Friends, III For the Road, the Unnamed Jazz Band and more.
In addition to street and public parking, shuttle services from the Masonic Lodge Eureka West Shore at 910 Market St., and Immanuel Church at 800 S. Market St.
