A 19-year-old man who forced pilots to make an emergency landing after reportedly launching an attack on crew members and passengers has been told he may not be able to fly home. Jay Dalziel was onboard the Jet2 Tenerife-bound flight from Glasgow , which diverted to Shannon Airport in Co Clare, Ireland, on Wednesday afternoon after he was accused of acting in what the airline said was an "appalling and deplorable" fashion. He appeared in court charged with two alleged 'serious assaults' on fellow passengers, where a judge told him he may be forced to take a ferry home, as airlines "may not be too keen to allow him to board a flight.

" Jet2 said on Thursday it had immediately banned Mr Dalziel for life from flying with them, and would be "vigorously" pursuing Mr Dalziel "for the recovery of all costs incurred by this diversion, which will be a five-figure sum". Dalzeil, from Motherwell, Scotland , was said to have become "disruptive" as soon as the flight took off from Glasgow, before his behaviour escalated to the point of "fully attacking" cabin crew and other terrified passengers. The flight departed at 3.



30pm on Wednesday, June 12, and diverted to Shannon Airport at around 5.30pm, where Dalziel was arrested by Gardai. The teen is also facing two breach of the peace charges against Section 20 of the Air Navigation Act, where he is accused of engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting n behaviour.

He was charged with the assault causing harm of Amie Hendry and assault caus.
