Met Eireann have predicted another potential heatwave for the week ahead, as sunshine and highs of 18 degrees are promised by the weather forecaster. After having the sunniest May on records, it's time yet again to break out the sunglasses and shorts, as long spells of sunshine and fine weather are on the horizon this week. Dry, bright weather is set to be paired with higher temperatures, as the Irish summer seems to be picking up its pace.

We are promised fine weather throughout the week, with clear skies and temperatures of up to 18 degrees in some areas, On Sunday, it is set to be a dry start for Munster and much of Leinster with sunny spells. However rain in Connacht, Ulster and parts of north Leinster will continue to push further south over the country during the afternoon but won't reach the south coast until nightfall.
Drier and brighter weather with sunny spells and showers will extend across Ulster in the evening. Temperatures will reach highs of 10 to 14 degrees for most areas but reaching 15 to 17 degrees in the south and southeast. Heading into Monday, it looks set to be a bright day with long sunny spells - with just be a few showers pushing south on a moderate northwes.
