Josep Martinez is all set to be the first big summer signing for Inter Milan, but there are other transfer market doubts for the Nerazzurri. This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews . It has always looked to be the case that this summer would be much quieter than last one for Inter.
Last time around, twelve players left the Nerazzurri. And twelve new ones came in to take their place. That reshuffle has given Inter’s squad a strong balance – both in terms of the starting eleven, and the depth options.
And the Nerazzurri already wrapped up two big signings months ago. Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski will both arrive on free transfers. Inter have therefore seen the next order of business to be signing a long-term starting goalkeeper.
The Nerazzurri had initially been looking to sign Athletico Paranaense’s Bento . Inter also eyed up Udinese’s Maduka Okoye and Lazio’s Christos Mandas from within Serie A. And Villarreal keeper Filip Jorgensen is another player whose agent they contact.
Josep Martinez First Big Summer Signing For Inter – But Several Doubts Remain But in the last couple weeks, it is Genoa goalkeeper Martinez who Inter have been working to sign. The Nerazzurri should wrap up the Spain international’s transfer in a couple of days. Martinez will spend next season as the backup to Yann Sommer in goal.
Then, Inter hope, the 26-year-old former RB Leipzig keeper can replace Sommer in the long term.
