Fashion designer Matilda Djerf has detailed her experience with an ectopic pregnancy to her three million fans. The influencer took to Instagram to reflect on the past four years she has spent recovering from the traumatic health scare. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a pregnancy develops outside of the uterus, usually in one of the fallopian tubes, which can be life-threatening.

"I was in the middle of an ectopic pregnancy and had to have my left fallopian tube removed. I made myself a promise to continue sharing my story as the years pass to raise awareness of what an ectopic pregnancy is," she continued.

"It took months for me to heal, and over the years since sharing, I have received many beautiful and important messages from others who have gone through the same experience.
The model's post concluded: "This is a reminder that we are never alone in our feelings or pain. I love you ❤️." Accompanying her heartfelt caption, Deft shared a snap of her stomach after surgery and screenshots of a lengthy message she had written.
